The Grasslands Programme is a national initiative under the Department of Environmental Affairs (DEA). Provincial environmental departments in KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga, the Free State, North West, Eastern Cape, Limpopo and Gauteng are responsible for environmental initiatives at a provincial level.
