| - Grasslands to ordinary South Africans |
|
Clive Bunting, a farmer based in Dundee, KZN sees the need to incorporate biodiversity best practices in his everyday farming, doing his bit to conserve the grasslands for both current and future generations. He burns his veld at the right season to stimulate biodiversity. He also keeps just enough animals not to pressure the field, as well as rotates his cattle on his farm to avoid biodiversity degradation. He is an example of what the grasslands programme is encouraging farmers and the agriculture sector to do, to preserve grasslands and enhance farming/production - 31 July 2008 |
